Ponte di San Michele

In the village of San Michele, in the town of Piazza al Serchio, a large stone bridge spans the "Acqua bianca" (White Water), which is a tributary of the River Serchio streaming down from the lake of Gremolazzo. The latter is a humped-back bridge with a slightly flat arch. It was built by local masons in the 12th century.
How to reach

by car:From Lucca, join the SS12 road in direction of Abetone. From Borgo a Mozzano, follow the provincial road until reaching Castelnuovo Garfagnana. From there, follow the signposts to Piazza al Serchio. After a few kilometres, reach the junction and turn left to San Michele.
