Villa Malfatti, today Piccioli

Area: Piana di Lucca
Place: Lucca
District/Locality: The building is a private property and cannot be visited inside.
Building dating: 1906

The building consists of the union of two rectangular bodies and stretches across three floors, a basement cellar and an attic. It has a hip roof which is covered by a layer of Marseillais tiles.
The main façade, which looks onto via Civitali, is constructed on two floors characterised by absolute symmetry and a rigid skirt roof. The round arches are surmounted by a continuous distempered fascia which is decorated with geometric motifs spaced with medallions depicting ships and birds.
The third floor, which is only visible on the other facades, presents double lancet windows and stained glass partitions which are encompassed with distempered decorations similar to those previously described.
The building is a private property and cannot be visited inside.
Historycal news

Between the time of its construction and the present day, there have been neither significant changes to the external appearance of the villa nor significant modifications to its interior. Therefore, the villa still appears the same today as it did when it was designed.
