The italian comics museum is the result of the great success of public met by the comics exhibitions, which is organized every year in Lucca. The unbreakable bond between the town and comics led to the creation of a vaste exhibition area in the restored building of the Caserma Lorenzini. The museum shows a rich collection of rare documents on the comics history and tridimensional reconstructions of settings and characters; it contains laborarories for children; it organizes technic workshops for adults and unusual exhibitions. So, it is a fundamental reference point for lovers and curious people, it is a place for fun, learning and meetings.

The museum is directed to a large public, which is formed by people with different interests, backgrounds and age, to stimulate knowledge and diffusion of these peculiar works of art.
A rich collection of manuscripts, sketches, press-proofs and others rarities, also available in electronic format, illustrate the history of comics from their birth. Tridimensional models of the most popular characters, placed in their fantastic settings, are related to historical events of XX century which inspired them. Finally, Lupo Alberto, the little blue wolf created by Silver, explains technical aspects to improve comics production.
The Art Attack laboratories whet children creativity. Pimpa, the white and red dotted dog created by Altan, lead preschoolar children to the first contact with comics.
The museum organizes frequently exhibitions and international meetings to look into unexplored aspects of comics penetration in everyday life.
