icona Monumento ai Caduti di Gramolazzo
Monumento ai Caduti di Gramolazzo
Area: Garfagnana
District/Locality: Minucciano
Address: via Primo Tonini

The sculptural monument, with the ex-school, is dedicated to the memorial of the Fallen of both wars. The work is composed of a statue of a standing hero on a base that simulates rocks blocks. The soldier, while he drops a bomb with a desperate and proud anxiety, keeps against his breast the tricolour flag with an extreme and strong defence. In front of the rock, you can see a plate with the names of the Fallen of both wars, put later to honour also the Fallen of the second war.

The monument has been solemny inaugurated on 10 th November 1929.

The author of the sketch of the hero is the scultor Baccelli (we don't know if Alfredo or Giuseppe Baccelli). The work has been realised in the laboratory "Coturri" - Massa Carrara.
