Ninety-one years after the first of the twenty-four speed issues, from 1927 to 1957, and the three with the rally formula from 1959 to 1961 on Friday, 18 May 2018, the 36th Mille Miglia re-envoy will return to Lucca.
After two years of absence, the Red Arrow, the "most beautiful race in the world", will go again from Lucca to continue for Versilia.
Respecting the tradition inaugurated in 1927, the route will start and will end at Brescia, crossing half Italy before and after the boa rush in Rome. As of 2016, Mille Miglia will be held in four stages for as many days but, important news of 2018, the race - instead of Thursday - will kick off a day before Wednesday, 16 and return to Brescia in the afternoon of Saturday, May 19 . The date, as a tradition, anticipates a one-week Monaco Formula One Grand Prix.
On Friday 18th will reach Lucca and Versilia, to Sarzana and Passo della Cisa. 1949 was the only year in which the Red Arrow crossed the CISA: the one in 2018 will be an expected return for 59 years. The third stage will take place in Parma: from here, the caravan will resume on Saturday 19th May to Brescia. Going to the finish line, the cars will cross Lodi, they will test some in the Monza National Raceway, then head for Bergamo and Franciacorta.
