Bridge in Crasciana

This old bridge spans the stream Purioni near Crasciana, in the town of Bagni di Lucca. It is a round-arched footbridge built in the first half of the 14th century. The bridge is sited in a beautiful valley, flanked by steep hills covered in chestnut trees. It was built in sandstone by local masons. It is in a satisfactory state of preservation. Due to the partial collapse of the parapet on the north-side, it is advisable to cross the bridge cautiously.
How to reach
by car:From Lucca take the SS12 road in direction of Abetone, past Bagni di Lucca and join the road to Crasciana. Just before entering the town take the downhill road on the right. The bridge is sited 1km far, at the end of the carriageway.
